New addition to "Ask Redbean and Kaminoan"
by Brickmodder (Official Announcements)I'm proud to announce the addition of myself to the ranks of some of the talented pros here and MCN. I'll be taking questions and helping people with the modification aspect and electrical/electronics of minifig and other LEGO customization. I will also (eventually) be adding some tutorials and other how-to's on how you can recreate some of the things I do.
As you may have noticed, the "Ask Redbean and Kaminoan" section title has a new addition:
"Redbean, Kaminoan, and Brickmodder"
Please use that forum section when asking questions directly. I will do my best to check daily.
A bit of background:
I've been into LEGO for about 30 years and never really had a dark age. I loved constructing and deconstructing all types of toys from an early age and loved tinkering with electronics. I had done a few custom lighted MOCs early on, but I didn't really get big into it until LEGO released the Star Wars minifigs. I had always laughed when I saw LEGO catalogs that showed various sets with the "simulated" lighting effects and thought SOME day I was going to make those lights a reality. Enter: www.brickmodder.net. In just a few very short months of my first minifig customization, I soon was able to make a totally self contained and lighted minifig with an internal battery and ON/OFF switch.
