Background: The Romitian Empire is one of two galaxy-wide, well, empires, that my friend and I created as part of a game a long time ago. He has since quit the game, but I sort of hung onto it and have been trying to translate it over to the GURPS Role Playing Game. Although it's an advanced setting, I always liked the US and Israeli militaries and allowed myself to be influenced by them. The uniforms look quite similar to the US uniforms with a bit of Israeli influence to them. You won't be able to see much of that in the figures, mainly because I have a dificult time with camouflage. As for the Israeli influence- the IDF "color codes" it's military using berets (Red beret are the Central Command Parachutists (Tzanchanim), Purple berets are Southern Command Infantry (Givati), and so on...), I liked that idea and incorporated it into my military. I also liked the epaulettes and removable shoulder tags from the IDF uniforms, but that didn't exactly work well with the minifigs.
Anyway, I always wanted modern day soldiers and after building up about a platoon's worth of MegaBloks Command Ops soldiers, I figured that it should be time for Lego to be represented as well. Therefore, since I've always been the emperor of Romitia, and I created these soldiers; they are: "Romitian trained Legonian Special Missions Forces", and being Romitian trained, they are entitled to wear the Blood Red beret and patches of the Romitian Special Missions Forces.
So here is one of my soldiers from the 1st Special Forces (they have no official names yet so they are currently designated by the letters of the greek alphabet), LSF Alfa!
