Actually that's what happen's in the first one (of which I plan to do a few figs :D) and we only see the consequences in this game where a virus created by Dr. Naomi was injected into snake and plus because snake was cloned off Big Boss when he was in his late Fifties, Snake is no rapidly ageing and in the new game he only has six week's of his lonely life left....

Very complicated I know I had to play each one six times before I understood them.
