Robota experamental frame.

by yeroc (WIP, Decal & Customizing Chat)

the robot frame in development has over 6 points of articulation, over twice the battle droid model.  this frame was based on a concept by doug chiang, who worked on the previous star-wars films and designed the battle droids.  this is a hunter-set frame from his novel, robota.  without further ado...

what do you guys think????

That's so sweet, yeroc. Can I ask what parts you used so I can attempt your build.

sure.

1 battle droid body cut down so it doesn't have a peg

3 battle droid hinges

1 skeleton lower body (cut in half)

2 thin hinges

a stikfa joint

custom sculpted head based on this

good luck.

This is spectacular. Will this be one of a kind or do you plan of producing multiple copies of the six point body?

by yeroc on Sun, 09/16/2007 - 22:49
multiple copies, if i can mold it properly. it would be a while before it would go commercial, 'tho.

This amazes me! Your sculpting never ceases to amaze me. Is there any chance of getting a few posed pictures?

by Shadowviking on Fri, 09/21/2007 - 16:07
*shock*
You're too good for your own- well, you get the picture. Someday, someone will murder you to get their hands on your amazing stuff (not to mention use some sort of infernal machine to get your amazing talent). I'm not making any plans yet, though. ;)

In short:
You, Yeroc, are a god. A god I say!

Wow, I can't believe I haven't seen any of yerocs sculpting yet. This is amazing really; i like it. It would be great for vignettes.

Good job Yeroc!

Great! I thought I was the only one who read that book, loved it though, inspired me to do my dystopia coursework in English.

That is fantastic, looks just like the real thing. One thing, you NEED to make the monkey that follows the protagonist around (I forget the names, I read it last Christmas). Keep up the excellant work.
