Lorien Standard Bearer

by Vidgamer838 (Minifig MOC's)

I've had this figure done for about two weeks now, but I never got the pictures taken. He is a Lorien Standard Bearer from Lord of the Rings. He is based on the unit from the game Battle for Middle Earth. The banner was really cool to make. I copied an elven banner design out of a book I have and printed two copies of it. I glued them together with white Elmer's glue with a liberal amount of glue. I positioned the banner the way I wanted it with folds and such, held it, and let it dry that way. It kept it's shape miraculously well. The elven blade and bracers are from BrickForge. Pictures are links.

Fantastic work. As of this post the gallery isn't public but I can already tell a good amount of work went in to this. Nice paint job too. I'll post more when the folder is moderated.

Sweet! Love how the flag turned out. Ya need some actual silver bracers though. Remind me to pack a free set in your next order.

Definitely a standard worth bearing! Thanks for posting the extra pics, I guess the crew at BS is taking a vacation. Great work, If you could get some "lighter" pictures, I think I'll add this to the customs section.

Masterful, Vid. I like how you handled the 'skirting' by making it part of the torso application. Smart thinking, that. The flag is great as well - it looks like a Warhammer design from the High Elf army, yeah? Is it just plain old paper?

The original post has been updated with all of the pictures that are now on Flickr. I retook the entire set of photos because the others were so bad. These are definitely much better. You can actually see the details on teh banner as well now! The banner was a scan out of a LotR miniatures book, made by Games Workshop. Yeah, it actually just is printed on plain printer paper.

Thanks for the generous offer Armothe!

I thought as much. I should steal- *ahem* borrow that idea for my banners. *Ahem* *Cough cough*
As I believe I said on Flickr, excellent work. And that "skirting" on the tunic is indeed awesome.

I really like it. It looks very very nice. I really like how everything was in silver and how you made those really nice vambraces. The banner design is also really nice. His sword gives you a mystical feeling and makes you see how great this sword was made. Obviously by the best of swordsmen and smiths. Over all Very very nice piece of work.
