Where can I get good sticker paper for custom minifigs?

by Radaral (WIP, Decal & Customizing Chat)
I used to use this cheap paper stuff from Staples that decentagrates if touched by water even just one spash but I found those are no good. And I tryed buying some offline and I got the kind that is a 4 by 6 sheet which is too small for a printer. I need good sticker paper for my new decal designs but I cannot get it anywhere. I believe the kind I am looking for is called the glossy kind all I know is that it's plasticey , not a paper which has a sticky thing on the back. Or is there a better kind I can buy and if so where can I get it I would like a link to where it's being sold. And it has to be just the right size for putting in a printer. Anyways this is a nice site who made it?

Welcome Radaral,

the paper you are looking for depends greatly on your printer - inkjet, laserjet, or bubblejet (yes I know they are rare, but heck.. I have one :-D )

Stickers need not be glossy - I find you can use regular paper, and after printing cover them with packing tape, then cut them out. This will protect them from a lot, but of course not total submersion. When you go to stick them on, use a glue stick, a plain old .99 cent glue stick. This works great, and will save you money.

For a little more, though, go to a hobby store and ask about print your own decals - again what sort of paper you get will depend on the type of printer you have. The hobby store should be able to hook you up. Most stores I have been to have stopped carrying decals themselves, and now only carry the print your own.

and here ya go http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/about

I don't want to use regular paper because it blurs the image when it gets printed and I have my own decals I already want to be printed.

Anyways these are my troops with the old decal design. I want to release the new one but I want better sticker paper but if having someone make stickers with my decals for me are the only way then I'll do it but I want decent sticker paper not the white paperish stuff with the sticky back part.

Oh and the link didn't help because those are all decal stores that sell there own. I want to print mine onto my guys.

waterslide paper (purchase online) and some sort of acrylic sealant so they don't wash off.

Avery also has a full sheet label paper.

Testors also has a line of waterslide decal paper which is what I use.  Its pretty good as long as you use something else to seal the decals instead of the decal bonder they give you because in my experiences it turns part of the printed design red.  You can find it at most Hobby Lobbys.

Well radaral the problem or so it seems with the blue leeching is the printer and should happen on any paper. This could also be because of the amount of detail in the image, when inlarged it'll come out blocky.

Anyway if you are after the transluceant paper it is called waterslide paper, much like they use on model cars to a lesser extent try ebay thats my guess.

i just use "all purpose labels" you can pick em up from any stationary store and you just peel and press on, color, draw,or make a battle scarred look, it all works especially if  you dont wanna spend alot on other methods and im not the best at drawing either so dont worry about that problem

Use Kaminoan's suggestions.  They're good.  You could also try http://lasertran.com/ .

I know this has been dead for awhile but I just got the stickers today and they where terrible. the sticky part wouldn't come off the backing and when they did the sticky part wasn't sticky, you just have to touch them and they leave scratches and they deteareate when you try to get the sticker part off and like I said they're not even sticky. I'm doing what lego freak said and just glueing printer paper with the design on it to my lego guys because even my brand of printer paper is stronger than this new stuff and the old 5 dollar sticker paper I used, even the 5 dollar sticker paper was better than this 16 dollar sticker paper.

ouch. That sucks dude.

I have been in spots like that where I think I finally found the product I need to make an awesome custom, and then the product turns out to be crap.

I feel your pain.
