Moved to the proper forum

My pipe is never not lit, it's how I see the future, but I believe we can leave the how and why out of it lest a future member gets some ideas. Suffice it to say there reasons can range from ennui to personal maliciousness. (I just wanted to use the word ennui one more time, love it.) I was but a lowly toiler at the time so I know very little detail. I would say it didn't have the desired effect since we are still here and many of the post hacker era has seen some of the most creative designs and customs yet and the future holds much promise.

I wasn't a Moderator at the time it happened; but let me see if I can field this as well:

1. how exactly would some one do such a thing.

By being fluent in computer software. Fluent enough to know how to manipulate that software. Or by aquiring 'hacker programs' which do the work for you. Beyond that, no one here is going to explain to you HOW it is done because we don't want people DOING it.

2.why would someone do such a thing

Any number of reasons. Some people hack websites just for fun. They might not have ever heard of MCN before they decided to hack the website. Some people just have nothing better to do than to be delinquents. Other people have any manner of vendetta. Anything from being 'mean' to someone, to suspending or banning them for poor behaviour, or anything else that the 'hacker' views as an insult. It all depends on how people react. Some people are extremely oversensitive and repulsed by any kind of authority, and damaging property (including websites) is how their infantile minds cope with stress. For more information on why stupid people do stupid things, please consult a textbook on Basic Human Psychology.

3.who was he or she... i need to know.

None of your business, and no, you don't need to know.

You're welcome.

And since this is now asked and answered - it's also locked.
