Pacman's CCCIV entries: UPDATE- 3 new pics

by pacman110011 (Minifig MOC's)
Ok, first off is Halthron . Halthron is a fig based completely on ideas in my own head. He is an evil wizard who often finds himself battling Majisto. During battle he doesn't let many get close enough to strike him but if they get to close, he has his dagger. Next is Durza , who is from the book Eragon. I didn't like the way the movies portrayed him so don't tell me that this isn't what he looks like. His helmet is a cast of Phar's Nummy helm made by Emily painted crimson. The decals are here and here . Haltron's decal is 100% made by me and Durza's is an edited decal of Sava's(edited by me) that he said I could use. C and C welcome. -Pac

I am sorry , poor photography (in your case, most likely attributed to the limitation of the camera) killed what ever you have to offer for show.

Try:
1) Focus on the minifig under a stronger light source, you might need to actually pull away the camera from the fig to get a focus.
2) Burrow a more capable camera from around
3) Ask some one around who can shoot pictures for help

You have been around for quite some time, I am interested to see what you came up with

I have to agree wth Fry here.... what I can see looks interesting enough to make me want in-focus pictures.  If it is your camera that simply isn't up to the challenge then let's try to work with it.  Take your figs outside on a bright day and take the best pics possible.  Don't get too close, the focal length of your camera is the minimum distance you have to be from the object you're photographing.

Sorry that the pics aren't great, but they are the best I can do. I borrowed the best camera around from my brother's friend so that can't be any better. I will need to take some better pictures outside but I can't until the camera and its owner get back(vacation or something). Thanks for saying that you want to see better pics though, it means a lot for two highly respected members. -Pac

try getting lighting from where the camera is, maybe try laying the fig down on a table under a light and take a bird's eye view pic

What is this, a Lego hobby site or a photography class? Actually I would take their advice Pac. Your customs deserve the cleanest pics possible. Good to see you entering the contest, very creative stuff. Good luck!

We all would love to see (clearly) what you have to offer as they do look very promising indeed!

If you're intention is to showcase your figs online, photography is just as important as your modding abilities.

Ok guys, I got a bunch of lights surrounding the figs and I laid them down on the table so I could get a birds eye view. I think the pics turned out pretty good. I updated those folders up there so they won't be public any more so here are the deepies- http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pacman110011/Contest/CCCIV/Durza/evil_necromancer_1.jpg , http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pacman110011/Contest/CCCIV/Halthron/black_mage_1.jpg , http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pacman110011/Contest/CCCIV/Halthron/black_mage_3.jpg . I hope those are better. Thanks for the support, increasing number of highly respected members ;D. -Pac

From what I can see these look pretty good, Devin. I would recommend you or your family invest in a nice camera, it would really come in handy for things like this, plus your parents could use it for other photography- Everybody wins! ; )

Good luck in the contest!

Thanks Amanda. I'm starting to save up money for the camera but its difficult when I have to pay for my phone and I just can't resist the temptation of going down the LEGO aisle ;D(who can?). Unfortunately my Mom doesn't really have much need(or want) of a camera but she might help me just because shes a helpful person. When I get a camera, I promise to have a lot of better pics. -Pac
