Jocasta Nu, Cin Drallig, and a Shadow Trooper Commander.

by Recluce (Minifig MOC's)

First up is Jocasta Nu.  I changed the colors of the robes, I like the decal better on white than tan.  The head is from Aunt May, works perfectly, and the hairpiece is one I cast and then cut down from the long braids of Padme.  Decal by Kaminoan.

Next, Cin Drallig.  Designed for a white torso, I mich prefer my tan and brown version.  The hairpiece is a cast one of mine, I like it in light grey, the white was too stark.  Decal by Red Bean.

Lastly, my own original character, a clone commander for the shadow troopers.  He's got a white Bacara decal (a 'second' of Kaminoan's he never intended to see the light of day) and a black cast Neyo helmet, because I think of all my helmets its my favorite.  He is armed with a vibroblade (a bionicle minifig weapon).  Had fun making this one, and I figured that the shadow troopers had to have a cool looking commander.

So, C & C welcome!

Fantastic figs!  Nice work all around, but that Shadow Trooper figure is really something: great decal, and that helmet is spectacular.   I completely dig the trans red visor.  Beautiful casts as always, and I agree that the grey Qui-Gon piece really gives the figure some added depth and bring out the detail of the hairpiece.

Truth be told, the visor isn't trans red, just plain red.  But the whole helmet does have a thick layer of high-gloss laquer on it, so it gives the visor some added "depth".

Ah, sorry about the mix-up.  Heck, I'm more impressed now with the "gloss depth" effect.

Wicked shiny! If he can lift that sword though, he should've been a heavy trooper...

I should've bought a couple Qui-Gon hairs from you when I had the chance at brickfest. I've got one of those decals myself, but I havn't figured what to do with it yet. I was thinking of using a dark tan with a grey robe, but I really like how your version came out.

If the light blue is underprinted with white then I'm certain that the Cin decal would look great in dark tan, it's one of my favorite new lego colors.

I've got tons of Qui-gon hairs, and I just lowered prices on pretty much anything else since I've gotten better at casting (less waste).  That hairpiece is a bit darker of a grey than I think his character reference should have, but I had no very light grey in that style.  I'll make one maybe later.

Oh come on now IA, the shadow trooper is totally original.  And I totally flew in the face of tradition by swapping the colors of the torsos.  Not enough you say?  sigh....   I'll come up with something.

These are excellent Recluce. Jocasta Nu looks very um... Star Warsey... and looks good in white(even with the tiny bit of yellow skin showing at the top of the decal). Cin Drallig is looking good in tan and his hair looks fantastic. The Shadow Commander(if you don't mind me naming him Shadow Commander that is) is a very ominous figure. I don't like that you can't see the belt strap but that isn't your fault. "Yay new star wars decals, now thats original.lol." What new decals? These are decals already made by Kam and RB applied to new, fantastic figs. And yes, they are original- have you ever seen those figs in those colors? I know I haven't. -Pac

Recluce the  customs are great! Could you take a picture of Jocasta Nu from the back? I'd like to see how the hairpiece looks. If it looks pritty maybee you should cast it!

That's a bit to critical considering you haven't made any physical customs of your own.

The hairpiece is just a Padme braid piece, and I cut off the bottom part, then "smoothed" out the bottom by shaving off the braids.  Took me about 5 minutes.

Yeah but if it looks really smooth and official you could cast it, and call it aunt may's hairpiece!

nah, silicone is too expensive to be used for something like that.  I've got to save it for things that are new.

Hi recluce,

Jocasta Nu on white is something I have never considered before and your version is a real eye-opener and looks great! However, because the actual Jocasta in the movie wears a full body robe, using blank legs on the minifig makes her look rather too plain. Have you thought of doing anything about the legs, as well?

Yes, when I made her my household goods hadn't arrived yet from my move.  All I had was my minifig kit and I didn't have any white slope pieces.  Now that its here I'll update it, and that alone should help.  But, I do think that the decal would look better if it was a full body design.  But you've gotta admit, she makes a great generic person in the SW universe.
