use of fabric for minifig hair..

by pork demon (Tips, Techniques & Questions)

howdy young'uns and waffle children, im currently constructing a minifig of kankaru's puppet from naruto, and i was wondering what people think of the idea of using fabric for the hair, i cant decide, its either use fabric or make a custom hairpeice from fimo or something similar. there should be a pick below, also if you have any ideas on how to do other bits of the minifig, please feel free to post your ideas, they will all be taken into consideration.

all oppinions welcome.

thx porkdemon

ps: moderators, im not sure if this is in the right forum topic, if it is'nt im really sorry. also if the pick is too big, im sorry again.

To restate the rules: Pictures can be 400x400 pixels max. And it goes in the Minifig Chat if it is a WIP. Since you're asking how you should build it and there are no WIP pictures yet, this should go in the Customizing Tips forum. No worries, I'll move it for you... this time.

The word 'fabric' in the topic header immediately calls for me. Fabric hair, however is not something I have seen people do. If I remember correctly, there was this guy on the old network who did minifig hair from cotton threads - but I cannot remember anyone using fabric. You will be the first. ;) I think that giving fabric a 3D look will be tricky, however if you succeed, you will get a very nice, anime-ish look. :D Good Luck!

the fabric im talking about is synthetic fur, its sort of like rabbit fur, but a bit longer and not from a rabbit, her is a link to  a pictre of the stuff that i mean.

of course id try and use a color closer to that of the puppets hair, im really asking for oppinions for this, as i said i cant really weigh up the pros and cons of this idea because they both have their good points but they both have their bad points. so any oppinions would be greatly appreciated.

also thank you to whoever moved this forum into the right topic section thingy.

I can't see the picture, but this would be a very unique idea.
