I am the newest member to your site i beleive and i am kind of tired of cutting out decals i download from the internet and simply glueing them on my figs. but i have been trying to make military style lego minifigs for a long time and i cant find very good looking weapons. i make my own so far ive made a G36 and an AUG and the simplest one of all being an M14. However, ive been trying to find reliable sites to buy oxford and best-lock military sets from. Alot of the ones ive seen dont seem very reliable at all...any one have any links or something of the sort?

I do not know where you can buy those, but I do know where you can buy some quality weapons- http://brickarms.com/ . You might want to go and check them out. -Pac

thanks those are pretty sweet they actually fit the figs unlike mine which arent even to scale...ill try to put up a picture sometime even though i dont have a camera. And the reason im trying to order sets from those comanys online is because ive been everywhere and i cant find them. Ive been to Wal-mart, Toys R' Us, Target ive even been to the local hobby store and i cant find them anywere all i can find are regular legos and the newer megablocks. Neither of those companys have what im looking for... I wish lego would come out with a military line of some sort but i guess they dont because they want it to appeal to certain people other kids and a military theme may not be appropriate to some parents etc.

So. . . . the reason you're trying to buy them is because you can't find them? That doesn't make any sense. Obviously there must be another reason why you would WANT them in the first place.

In any even, BrickArms has awesome stuff. I have a bunch of them laying around. There's also a couple of topics about BrickArms weapons over in the Brick Talk board.

im trying to find them on the internet because i cant find them in retail stores but i cant find any reliable looking sites. thats what i meant...sorry if i offended you in some way. Im trying to make military type minifigs from World War II and Vietnam also the Battlefield 2 scenario ( for those who dont know its the United States vs China and the MEC or Middle Eastern Coalition).

No, I wasn't offended. What I'm saying is - not being able to FIND them is not a REASON to be looking for them. Your reason for looking for them is that you want to make military figs and scenarios.

In any event, they are actually pretty hard to find. Some stores have them, some don't. If all you want is to make minifigs, you're better off ordering from custom producers like BrickArms for the weapons, and using decals and such for minifig prints.

Hey chaoslord800,

I have been running into the same problem.  I actually have a fair number of weapons that I've collected from a variety of sources.  I would generally agree with Damien on BrickArms -- I've got some of his stuff and it's great.  Definitely top-notch.  Unfortunately, his variety is a little limited, for now.  I know he's working on some new pieces, and I can't wait for them to come out.  For other weapons, though, you may want to try some of the following.  I'm not sure if you'll be able to find any of this stuff at a local store, so I'll try to include links to online sources.

MegaBloks' Command Ops line comes with some pretty cool-looking guns, if you can get past the big stud cap on the side of them.  It really diminishes the look of the weapon, which is otherwise very nice.  I'm still trying to classify all of the guns I have.  I've been able to find some sets at Ross (yeah, the clothing store), or you can buy direct from them at http://www.megablock.com/en/products/browse.php?cat=1&subCat=7&lId=0.

Cobi makes some nice weapons too.  I have PKMs, AKs, RPGs, pistols (like maybe a .45), and heavy machine guns from them.  If you can't find them at the store, though, you're probably out of luck, because their online store isn't up yet.

I've gotten some decent weapons from A&K shop (http://www.a-k-shop.com/e/home.htm).  Basically, they sell Oxford products.  They also have some pretty cool military-themed sets.  You test your luck when you order from them, though.  Some of the sets I've received have been great (I have no complaints with my Barrack), but some have not (the Military Medic didn't stay together very well).  I haven't been able to classify all of their weapons yet, either, but they look pretty good and fit Lego minifigs pretty well.  I think I have machine guns, sniper rifles, pistols (auto and revolver), an ammo box, and some M-16s (the kind with the squarish grips that don't fit a minifig's hand very well) from them.

Finally, you might want to try Stikfas.  Their online shop is very expensive, but you can usually find some decent deals on eBay.  I got the Mixed Body Types Assault Team from them, and it came with some pretty nifty weapons that are basically Lego-sized.  They don't fit perfectly into a minifig's hand, though, so you may need to add some diameter to the grips on some of them.  I couldn't even begin to tell you all of the weapons that came with this set.  I got a minigun (which is huge compared to a minifig -- check out this pic: http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/node/285), an M-4, an AK, an Uzi, and a bunch of other stuff.

Many of these weapons are pictured here: http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/accessory_type/weapon/weapon_gun_modern.  I hope this helps.  Good luck!

i just ordered a couple things from the a-k site since one of my buddies saw it and told me about it. i wasnt really sure if it was reliable or not but the prices were fairly cheap so i decided to order from them anyway. But now that i hear from someone it kinda of eases my worries a bit i ordered the barrack and a shinook looking helicopter with 4 troops and a jeep. I also ordered 6 black AK-47s from brick arms which i plan to paint with citadel paints from gamesworkshop ill probably also try to paint some uniforms instead of using decals since i cant make them. If i can borrow a camera from someone ill show those and a couple other customs ive made and plan to make. The best one being a Knight of Khorne from Warhammer which to me is very good but compared to alot of the stuff on this site it pales in comparison...anyways thanks alot for your guys help

Cood call on the A&K purchases.  I got both of those sets and I'm happy with them.  I actually took the pieces from the jeep that comes with the Chinook and added them into the helicopter, so now it has a door on both sides in the front, with gunners.  I added a refueling probe and voila!  An MH-47!  If I can ever get a good flight suit decal, I'll post pics (in another forum, of course).

Damien, I like you're decals. Where can I get them?

You can't?

I make all of my own decals on CorelDraw and get them printed for my own use. I rarely share the designs unless I'm asked nicely. And even then, you'd need CorelDraw12 or better to use them.
