Official UCS AT-ST Set, Anyone?

by Unknown Artist (Brick Talk)
Well, when I was surfing in the B-Shelf gallery yesterday, I found this interesting gallery with an image of a # 10174 UCS AT-ST official Lego set:

So, my fellow Star Wars fans, what do you think?

Edit: Thanks for pointing it out, DD. Here're some more images from FBTB.

Though the set has the usual TLC flaws in proportion like misshaped head, thick and short legs, I like it. I am certainly planning ti buy it... at least because of the numerous grey wing plates! ;)

Victor it is an official set, Ace over at www.fbtb.net posted it, as they lego community dude Seve Witt gave him the new image, turns out it will be out on the 29 th June. Its pricey though.

Personally its very nice looking but I shalt not buy it due to the fact I'm drifting away from Star Wars and flying towards the Sci-Fi stuff. Its a great set for pieces though,  The grey slopesnd plates would be great for a SHIP (a moc over 100 studs long) and also for some small craft and great Greeb pices just for those pipey pices on Mocs.

I love the way the hatch at the top opens and the eyholes are fab too. Would have been nice to see some more SNOT, and mabye panels covering the back legs.

Oh and here is Fbtb forums discussion thread. http://www.fbtbforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=13959

Aslo this is all in new Bley :(

That's cool, but I wouldn't buy it because I prefer my lego sets Minifig scale.

Calling 30 bucks shipping cost a luck, are you DD? ;) That's my only reason for large orders... (Yes, it IS off-topic, but I guess I can afford this much as a MOD) :D

Odd, I recieved an email from starwars.com hyperspace saying we could vote for the design of the UCS set. I don't remember this on the list...

That's because this set was already decided upon unlike the Med droid, R2, AT-AT etc. I'm actually not overly excited about this set. It seems LEGO is releasing too many high price sets ($70-$100+) in one year. I want to make sure I grab the Sail Barge and ISD before they go out and then save for this set. Plus, I'm running out of space!

EXactly the same with me Poohbear14. I probably only have room for an ISD or the sail barge but i think i might go with the ISD i am not sure yet. Plus they havent been making ne 20-40 dollar range sets nemore its only the big sets. Like come on you probably cant really think of ne small sets that will be able to be relased in the future . Maybe a few like bail organas speeder but thats all i can think of!

So, I got this set and built it over the weekend.  Pretty fun build, I took my time with it and the instructions were, for once, clear and easy to understand (no issues with colors, etc).  Only real issue I had was in getting the head panels to all line up.  There is nothing to really ensure that all of the panels match up and stay in their place, and it was about 30 minutes of breaking and fixing the dang thing to get it to work.  Hmm, and also.... lack of articulation in the set.  The upper leg joint is the only one that moves the leg, and since none of the other joints move that means there is really no way to change the pose.  The head swivels, and also the gun turrets and little pods on the side of the head.   But I'd have liked to see more articulation in the legs, so that a more dramatic pose could be achieved.  Still, it looks cool and is on par with the other UCS sets.
