Yeah, he also has his own website at www.brickarms.com.  I just found out about his stuff myself.  I sent him an e-mail with some suggestions for new weapons, and he said he's working on an MP-5!

Please, call me Chris.

well, it seem I shall not be getting any of these from bricklink, as I spent my designated money on something else.(watch out for new KOTOR2 customs)

I ordered some a set of these, mostly out of curiosity (I don't have much use for modern stuff). Should have them in a little over a week, or thereabouts (Paypal e-Check has to clear).  Victor -- I can take pictures for the MCN Accessories gallery - since I have that uber-pixel digital camera.

Apparently he doesn't when looking at his bricklink where he sells his guns, "Payment must be made via PayPal."

I live for LEGO on clearance!

by BrickArms on Fri, 06/16/2006 - 22:29

Hey all!  I see you've all been talking about my weapons.   I'm glad to be here and if you have any questions, shoot!

I'll address each of the concerns voiced so far:

1) Price - My molds are expensive. They have to be to get the quality part that you all demand! After a while, I may be able to reduce my prices, but being only 2 weeks old, BrickArms is still trying to figure out the customs market. :)

2) Payment - I only accept PayPal because I am just not yet equipped to do anything else.  I am currently so swamped with orders that the built-in PayPal shipping label generation, and the integrated tracking really lets me get all of the orders out within one day of them being placed.  If I were to accept Money Orders or personal checks, I would not be able to meet this level of customer satisfaction.

Thanks for the support!

Good to see that you decided to join our little community, BrickArms (may we call you Will?). Don't sweat your prices - I actually consider them very reasonable (pretty much on the level with Little Armory prices, and LA has been in business quite a bit longer). Excellent work on your fine-looking weapons, and I'm anxiously awaiting being able to check them out up-close and personal.

MCN Moderator of Customization Tips, Techniques & Questions
by BrickArms on Sat, 06/17/2006 - 00:19

Sure, call me "Will"!  About my prices, I had originally thought $2.50 was reasonable!  I'm glad I woke up from THAT delusion.  My molding advisor was  instrumental in keeping me on track as BrickArms was preparing for launch.

Damien, do you dabble in custom molding as well?

Will Chapman • BrickArms.com

by Damien on Sat, 06/17/2006 - 00:50

$2.50 actually wouldn't have been an unreasonable price at all. But therein is the rub -- what is reasonable, and what people can afford isn't necessarily the same. And that price may have stretched some people's pockets a bit more. But even so - it wouldn't have been unreasonable. Thanks to Jeff (the owner and operator of Little Armory) we are all well-aware that the process you guys use to make these pieces is ludicrously expensive, and we appreciate that you do it anyway!

And no, no custom molding for me. I haven't nearly the skill with either my hands or computer programs to be of any use in that regard. I'm more of a generic, amateur customizer, myself. I envy you guys that can make something that looks professional. ;)

How does your son enjoy the guns, by the way?

well, I should be able to get some soon, as I should be getting a load of money. So that means time for some CS customs.

~~~EDIT~~~
welcome to MCN will, I think that you should make the pictures bigger on your brickshelf, because thats the only thing I think people would say needed improving.
Hey crazy boy I was gonna do the same thing, except me and my friend were thinking of making a movie, like this one,http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5234940689526259491&q=lego+counter+strike , it's a bit violent, so if you don't like that sort of thing, just don't watch it, but it hasnt got any profanity.
Warning ::::  Video has some footage of "dead minifigs" if you do not like to see this do not open the link :) -DD
Told you =D~VM
yeah, but if I made a stopmation, the minifigs would actually look like terrorists and counter terrorists and the quality would be much better.
Yeah, I was gonna ask El Mariachi to make some, as I prefer to make weapons for them and not do the decals, and all google video videos have poor quality, but it is hard to find a good quality stop motion camera that comes with software, and if you know of any, please tell me.
Hey Will, I think your pieces are incredibly well done, and I fully intend to get some soon.  I actually asked you about the MP-5, and I really hope you can come up with that (as well as a good sniper rifle), for me to use in some animation.  I have the MP-5 from the old Best-Lock line, and I think that yours would be much better.  I have their M-4 too, and I like yours much better.  Your AK-47 and RPG also are better than the ones I have, which were made by Cobi (or, "the new Best-Lock").  Yours definitely have a much more "Lego" look to them.  I hope that you get lots of support, so you can continue to produce such quality product, and expand your line.
EDIT: I had mistakenly said that the MP-5 and M-4 were from Mega-Bloks, but then realized my mistake.  Sorry!
Please, call me Chris.
by BrickArms on Sun, 06/18/2006 - 23:15
Thanks for the encouragement!
You know, before I started designing the BrickArms line,  I didn't even look at any of the other modern weapons by any other vendors out there (besides Lego, of course).  It was strictly a "grass roots" kind of thing with me.  I think it helped me not get distracted by what was already out there.
My 8 year old son has a real eye for detail, and I had to revise them over and over on the computer until he was satisfied.
He has read your comments, and the tons of other emails as well, and is excited for me to add more weapons to the mold.  Sales are going very well, and I may be able to add them earlier than expected.
Stay tuned!
One question, what exactely did you use to make them, after designing on the computer and how much does this "machine" or whatever cost?
by Damien on Sun, 06/18/2006 - 23:25
Baggins, check the first question of the FAQ on Will's website: Clicky
So, any hints as to what might or might not be coming out of BrickArms in the future? Any chance for the FA MAS? ;)
